Welcome to our Ministries for Children and Parents!

We offer a wide variety of Children’s Ministries here at Colonial Baptist Church. The links to the left will take you to more detailed information. If you have any questions about our children’s ministries or about our church in general, please give us a call.

Sunday School
We offer Sunday School during each Sunday morning service. Our preschool department is divided into classes based on age. Our elementary department is divided into classes based on grade. We suggest that by the 3rd grade, children attend the corporate gathering with their parents and attend one hour of Sunday School.

AWANA
AWANA meets on Sunday evenings from 5:45 to 7:15, during the school year. If you are considering AWANA for your children, we welcome you to come and visit on a club night to learn more about the program.

Nursery
Our nursery ministry is for children age 0-24 months. Nursery is available during each of the regularly scheduled Sunday services. We often have nursery for special events, but please check in advance. The nurseries are located in the ground floor of the Family Center.

Colonial Corners
Colonial Corners takes place at 9:30 on Sunday Morning for kids in grades 4-5. It is a fun, upbeat worship experience for kids involving drama, games, music and a message from God's Word. Click HERE for the Colonial Corners video. Note that during the 8:00AM and 11:00AM services, grades 4-5 are in Sunday School classes.

Special Needs
The Chameleon Classroom is an adaptive setting specifically designed for children, grades K-5, who have mild to moderately severe special needs.  The mission of the Chameleon ministry is to share God’s love and gospel message with special needs children in adaptive ways that is easy to relate to and understand.

Fall Camp
Fall Camp is a special weekend retreat for children in Grades 3-5. This is an annual event and is often the highlight of the year for the kids who attend. We rent a facility called Camp Willow Run on beautiful Lake Gaston. The camp is about 90 miles from Colonial.

Summer Day Camp
Summer Day Camp is a very special one week program for children age 3 through grade 5. Camp meets in the morning, and is very much like a Vacation Bible School program. This is one special week your kids will not want to miss!

Meadowland Preschool
Our weekday morning preschool ministry offers both 2-day and 3-day programs for children ages 2 and older. This is a loving and nurturing environment where your child can learn and grow. This program is staff by dedicated professionals who love God and love children. For additional information you can contact our Director, Yvonne King. She can assist you with enrollment information and employment opportunities.

Cub Scouts
Colonial is in the very early stages of chartering a Cub Scout pack. We are excited about the opportunity to teach young boys the Word of God and some important life skills through scouting. Cub Scouts is for boys in first grade through fifth grade. The purpose of Cub Scouting is Character Development, Spiritual Growth, Good Citizenship, Sportsmanship and Fitness, Family Understanding, Respectful Relationships, Personal Achievement, Friendly Service, Fun and Adventure and Preperation for Boy Scouts.
