Practice sheets are available HERE.
What is Bible Quiz?
It is a friendly competition among other churches in our area that also have T&T clubs.
The Bible is so huge, what exactly are the clubbers quizzed on?
They are quizzed on the material in the first 4 Discoveries in the T&T book that they are currently working in. This mainly includes the Bible verses, doctrine, and definitions of words.
Why should my child participate?
Well, first of all they will practice enough to thoroughly learn and understand the material in their books rather than just learning it for Awana night and moving on. Secondly, it is fun to practice with friends and be on a team. We do make practices FUN! Third, we often have our children compete in athletics, so now let’s let them compete in a spiritual and academic way.
Are there awards?
Yes!
-
Every participant receives a pin to wear on their uniform.
-
Any clubber who answers all 12 multiple choice questions correctly, regardless of how his team members score, will receive a special ribbon.
- Any clubber who "quizzes out" in a speed round, meaning that they answer the maximum allowed, receives a special ribbon.
-
First place teams receive a medallion on a ribbon to wear around the neck. Second through fourth place teams receive ribbons.
How is the quiz run?
There are 2-3 clubbers on each team and two parts to quizzing. The first part consists of answering 12 multiple choice questions using A,B,C paddles to hold up. The second part is speed quizzing when one team member at a time presses a buzzer as soon as they know the answer. (If a clubber only wants to do multiple choice that can usually be arranged by putting her on a team with 2 clubbers who want to speed quiz.)
When are the practices and are they required?
Ideally, you come to as many practices as possible to learn to work well as a team, to be well prepared, and out of respect to your teammates and coach. Official practices will be on the 5 club nights prior to the quiz. The practices begin at 4:00pm. (Note carefully that practices are necessarily on the five Sundays before the quiz, but the five club nights before the quiz. Holiday breaks are not included.) Clubbers should practice at home often (more often if they want to do well). Unofficial practices can be held anytime with team members at homes of clubbers or coaches.
What do I do to get my clubber ready before the first practice?
Good question, help them to complete Discoveries 1-4. It is best if they have done this before the first practice, but it is not required. However, it is required to finish Discoveries 1-4 before the actual competition.
Who do I call if I have more questions?
